No one waiting to cross.
Still, the lights continued their careful instructions.

“At 3:16 in the morning, WOT found a traffic light changing colour for an empty street.”.
Red.
Green.
Amber.
Then red again.
There were no cars.
No pedestrians.
No one waiting to cross.
Still, the lights continued their careful instructions.
WOT remained beside them until dawn, in case someone arrived who needed to know what to do.
